Carbide Inserts for Turning Stainless SteelCarbide Inserts for Turning Stainless Steel by APT Carbide Grade M250 and Chip Breaker MPN for positive inserts and MMN for negative inserts are designed to cut all grades of stainless steel they will also cut hi-temp alloys and hi-alloy steel Grade M250 is our most advanced Multi-PVD coated grade for machining stainless it incorporates layers of TiN and TiAlN providing excellent wear resistance with good metal removal rates but will also cope with lower cutting speeds and work hardening materials Grades 2235, 2230 and Chip Breakers MM and FX will be replaced with the newer models as stock is depleted, Grade 2235 is coated using the MT-CVD coating process with layers of TiN-TiCN-AlO2-TiN it produces a wear resistance coating which has the ability to cope with lower cutting speed than other CVD coatings. Grade 2230 is more wear resistant that 2235 and can cope with higher cutting speeds. Recommended Cutting Conditions - Speeds and Feeds for APT Carbide Turning Inserts for Stainless Steel
