This is an excellent tool holder. Very rigid. I've used in on aluminium with the MGGN 200-ALU AK10 inserts and I couldn't be happier with the results. Parting and grooving went very well. It can part up to about 30mm which is great.
My lathe is very small so I milled 2mm off the bottom surface of the holder to allow it to sit at center height. It's made of very high quality steel, but it machines fine.
I've also used the tool holder from Arc Euro Trade which takes the same inserts, and costs about the same. This tool is far superior. Much more rigid. I actually damaged the Arc tool holder the first time I used it, and had to repair it. But this holder is much sturdier. I'd definitely buy it again if I had to, or wanted to keep different inserts in a second holder to save having to swap inserts when changing materials.
